Wednesday, June 3rd is Global Running Day – a unifying day that encourages everyone worldwide to get moving.

In the spirit of unification, RRA Gives Back is organizing a virtual 5K in hopes of raising both money and awareness in light of recent events, all while bringing us all closer together as a team. Full details can be found below.

What? A Virtual 5K to raise awareness for and support the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.  You can do these 3.1 miles however you’d like – run, walk, bike, at any pace. Indoors or outdoors, alone or with your quarantine pod! Let’s get active for a good cause.    

When?  June 3rd through Sunday, June 7th

Our cause? NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.  The NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund uses litigation, advocacy, and public education to work towards racial justice and equality for all Americans. The organization is fighting to protect voting rights, reform the criminal justice system, and improve equal access to education, among other civil rights causes. 

Now what?

Plan: Run solo, form a squad, invite family, friends and colleagues to join you virtually. Plan when and where you want to run/walk and get moving! The more the merrier.

Donate: Recommended $10 donation per runner, but please donate what you feel comfortable giving. All  proceeds raised will be donated directly to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.
 
Get Ready & Go: Tie your shoelaces and commit to action. Stay safe and please remember to snap a picture while participating (or at the finish line) of you, your running buddies, or something that gives you strength along the way.
