Hi my name is Jeff Leis, i am fundraising for Runnymede, SK Community hall.

Runnymede hall holds deep to the roots of my family and many many others as Runnymede once was quite the happening little place in the prairies. Many of the people from the area have moved away, far and wide in search of better opportunities as there is not a lot employment in this area.

It's still a place we a lot of us get to call the home land.

This hall has been a great connection point for many people and is such a fun little hall to get everyone together.

I will share a memory.

As a youngster in a very large Leis Family it was hard to ever have us all together in one place my grandmother Florence Leis and Grandpa Jack Leis would rent the hall for Christmas, we would fill it full. Us kids would put on plays on the nice little stage, or play down stairs, Adults would all have great time socializing over a few drinks, enjoy a big potluck meal, then play some bingo for gifts, maybe even a little floor hockey once the place cleared out.

Childhood memories like this to me mean a lot and so does this hall which means them sort of memories should be for the next generation to create and enjoy. Places like this should not be closed and torn down.

The hall is in need of a new roof and some stair repair and few other odds and ends.

I know its not easy going for many now a days in Canada but any little thing helps.
