Hello Charlotte Brown and Sofia Boskell here. We are two teenagers from Western Australia. On November 9th, 2025 we plan on running a half marathon with hopes of raising awareness and money for the current humanitarian crisis going on in Gaza. Currently there are 500,000 people living in phase 5 level famine in Gaza with 289 people that have already died of starvation, 115 of those people being children. Another 1.07 Million people or 54% of Gaza's population are currently living under phase 4 (the second highest level) of famine and another 396,000 people, or 20% of Gaza's population, are living in phase 3 level famine. 1 in 10 children in Gaza are malnourished and at least 40,500 children are injured as a result of the Gaza war. There are currently 2.1 million people living in the Gaza Strip which is considered an active war zone who are being trapped in Gaza by the Israeli military and there are also 6,000 UNRWA (United Nations Relief & Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) trucks loaded with aid stuck outside waiting to obtain permission to enter Gaza. As a result of these two factors combined not only are people starving they also don't have access to lifesaving medicine. The people of Gaza are forced to live in dangerous conditions with no escape.
