RUNNING THE MARATHON FOR LILI ROSE & FOX'S FUTURE

On March 8th 2020 I will be running my first Marathon to raise money for two very special little people in my life, Lili Rose and Fox.
To describe Lili Rose & Fox as unique is an understatement. They share a genetic condition which hasn’t been reported in another human being and because of this it is hard to predict what lies ahead in their future. Their journey so far hasn’t been easy, but ever since they were born on the 6th April 2019 they have been beating the odds and defying expectations.
Their condition presents them and their parents, Sam and Polly with lots of daily challenges. They need round the clock care and each of them have their own unique medical needs, which are constantly changing as they grow and develop.
Fox and Lili’s healthcare depends heavily on the medical insurance cover that Sam works to provide, but the insurance doesn’t cover everything. On top of this, Fox and Lili’s unique needs mean that it is almost impossible for them to be looked after by only one person, so an extra pair of hands is needed to help Polly whilst Sam is at work. My aim is to raise money to help pay for any additional healthcare and childcare costs, but more importantly I hope we can contribute towards making sure that these two have the best start in life.
When I decided to run the Marathon, Lili Rose and Fox came to mind straight away. They have been little fighters and I’ve often referred to them as little superheroes because of this. On March 8th when I’m doubting whether I can keep going at the 20 mile mark, I’ll think of them and the bright future that I want them to have.
