In April, Denise and I will be taking on the London Marathon to raise money for Deaf Choices UK, a small local charity that means the world to us and our family.

My daughter Lillia was born in May with permanent hearing loss in both ears, and like any new parents, we were filled with questions, worries, and uncertainty about what the future would look like for her. That’s when Deaf Choices UK stepped in.

They’ve provided us with incredible support, guidance, and community—helping us navigate this new journey and giving us the tools to communicate with our daughter through cued speech. Their dedication to supporting deaf and hard of hearing children and their families has already made a huge difference in our lives.

This charity relies on donations to continue their amazing work, offering early support, education, and empowerment to families like ours. Every pound raised will help ensure more children have the opportunity to reach their full potential and that more parents receive the reassurance and guidance we’ve been lucky enough to have.

Training for 26.2 miles is tough—but nothing compared to the challenges some children face growing up deaf or hard of hearing. I’ll be carrying their strength and spirit with me every step of the way.
