Hi, my name is Shane, almost two years ago I lost my son very suddenly to a brain aneurysm, he was 31 and had his whole life ahead of him. I completely lost myself, I've had my own near death experiences but nothing compared to the excruciating pain of losing my boy.
Since losing my son, my mindset has completely changed, I want to use my life to empower others in living life to the fullest and with a positive mindset. My fitness has become a priority in navigating my way through my grief and this has led to me raising money for various charities in my sons memory. I have completed two 24hr walks in aid of The Brain Charity, Ive climbed Snowdon, Ben Nevis, Ive walked The South Downs and competed in a charity MMA fight (which I won in 14 seconds).
This will be my most challenging and enduring challenge to date, myself and a group of like minded guys will be running the length of the United Kingdom, starting on December 5th 2025, we will average 51 miles a day and will cover 850 miles altogether.
I am fundraising for a cause close to my heart, Hawkhurst Community Hospital, they are a small hospital that specialise in rehabilitation and interim care. My younger sister was born there many moons ago ( sorry Kelly) and they also took care of my Grandad until his passing. So giving them some much needed support means the world to me.
This fundraiser will also support me to complete the challenge, supplying food and accommodation on the way, these costs will be kept as minimal as possible to ensure Hawkhurst Community Hospital are receiving as much as possible, I'm also on the hunt for business sponsors to help me to cover this part of the challenge, so if that's you, or someone you know please do let me know!
Thankyou for taking the time to read and support me! I will be updating along the way.
