I’m running the LA Marathon this year in support of women and girls in need of resources, safety, and opportunity. In a beautiful alignment, the race lands on International Women’s Day.
I’m fundraising through Yoga Gives Back, an organization empowering women and girls in India with education, safety, and financial opportunity.
I ran my first marathon 22 years ago, and training again now at 51 has reminded me how grateful I am for the freedom to move my body and shape my life as a woman on my own terms. Not everyone has that. Supporting women and girls through this marathon feels like one small way to honor that freedom and help create opportunity for those who don’t yet have it.
If this mission resonates with you, I’d be grateful for your support — donating, sharing, or simply cheering from afar. No pressure at all, just gratitude.
Here’s what your donation can support (but truly — even $5 makes a difference) :
• $25 — Microloan for a mother
• $50 — 10 women continue the Pad Project (sanitary napkins + income)
• $108 — Elementary education for five children for one year
• $250 — Higher education for a girl for one year
• $550 — Housing + education for an orphaned child for one year
When women and girls gain access to education and opportunity, entire communities and future generations thrive.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With gratitude,
Kiyomi
