Me and Max have decided to run the Bristol Half Marathon, which takes place just one month before the 10 year anniversary of losing our mum. To us, it feels like more than just a coincidence it feels like a sign that we need to do this in her memory.
In 2016, we tragically and suddenly lost our mum to a stroke at just 47 years old. In an instant, our whole world was turned upside down, and life as we knew it changed forever. The shock was just heartbreaking and not a day goes by where she’s not on our minds.
Running this half marathon is our way of honouring her memory and turning our pain into something positive. We want to raise as much money and awareness for the Stroke Association, a charity that supports families who have been affected by a stroke, as well as those who are recovering and rebuilding their lives after being given a second chance.
No family should have to face what we did without support.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference and is deeply appreciated. Your support means more to us than words can express.
Now it’s time for us to put the training in and get half marathon ready, we will always be reminding ourselves how grateful we are to have our health and the opportunity to do something so meaningful.
Thank you so much for your support.
Love Zoe and Max
