A Run for Recovery - Celebrating 10 Years
Tax deductible
Please join me in supporting The Retreat Scholarship Program as I attempt to run the 107 Mile Central Lakes/Lake Wobegon Trail, From Fergus Falls to Waite Park; July 1st - 2nd, 2022!
As many of you know, ten years ago, with much encouragement and support from my family, I was handed a lifeline and made the decision to enter a 30-day recovery program for alcohol addiction at The Retreat in Wayzata, MN. What transpired next was nothing short of a miracle. By putting the principles I learned at the Retreat into practice, and with the ongoing support of my higher power, family, friends & the recovery community, I've been granted a reprieve from addiction ever since.
I discovered running a year into my recovery and found it complements my program perfectly. Since running my first 5k in 2013, I've completed dozens of races ranging from 5K to 85 miles. This will be my longest challenge thus far, and my wonderful wife, Whitney, will be crewing me at the trailheads along the way. I highly encourage anyone who wants to join me for a few miles on foot, bike, skateboard...whatever. I would love the company! I'll be live-tracking the event so people can follow me online along the journey.
Whitney and I will be matching the first $1,000 raised by this event to show our appreciation. Every $187 raised will provide another day in treatment for someone in need.
Most importantly, If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please know there is a solution and help is available. Call or message me anytime for info. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions and point you in the right direction.
Thanks so much for your support!
