Running for Mum and Dad
Donation protected
Hey everyone, my name is Edward and on the 7th of April I will be lacing up for the Canberra times half marathon. I am completing this run to fundraise for Muscular Dystrophy and Guide Dogs Australia. Any money raised will be split 50/50 between each charity. As someone who prior to this year had never run over 5km, I look forward to the challenge knowing that it’s for a good cause.
My Reason:
My mother and father are my motivations for completing this fundraiser. After losing my mother at a young age she has always inspired me and guided me through life. My mother was blind and faced many other medical difficulties, but she never let any of that get in her way and always had a smile on her face. As a kid I remember not wanting to catch the bus and my father saying “look at your mother she can’t even see and she gets two busses to work”. My mum inspired me to face challenges head on has made me grateful for the life I live and the memories we shared.
This fundraiser is also for my father who we lost over a year ago. My father was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy but along with my mother he never let it get to him. He never asked for help even though he needed it. The strength, resilience and unwavering positivity that they showed day by day has shaped me into the person I am today. I find comfort in knowing I will always have them with me, helping and guiding me.
Why Contribute?
Your support will not only honor the memories of my extraordinary parents but will also have a meaningful impact on the lives of those living with visual impairments and Muscular Dystrophy. Both of these areas require ongoing research and funding to improve the outcomes and support those living with these conditions.
All your donations will be greatly appreciated ❤️
Thank you for your support,
Keep Smiling,
Edward
