It's been just over 2 years now since we lost Dad. He fought a long battle with Amyloidosis - a rare cancer that caused proteins to build up and reduce his heart function.

Since his passing, I've found comfort in friends, family, and particularly our new son George. But running is where I've found the most solace.

When I run, I'm alone, often listening to a dance or rock playlist on Spotify - but mostly just inside my own head. I use that time to reset, recharge, and talk to Dad. I ask for advice, share what George has been doing, and tell him how much we miss him.

So it seemed fitting that through some good fortune, I secured a placed in the 2026 New York Marathon. I'm not running for a target time, I'm running to enjoy the journey, savor the experience, and mostly, talk to Dad.

In his honor, I'll be raising money for Stand Up to Cancer, a great cause both in the US and UK to help fund research and support impacted families.
