Hello!!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my gofundme page. My hope is to not only raise money but awareness too for
Phelan-McDermid Syndrome.
My two little friends Alex and Sam have been diagnosed and since the diagnoses not a day has passed that I haven’t tried to think up ways that I can help. How can I help and make a difference? For me, supporting Alex and Sam comes in the form of caring, playing and physically doing anything I can to make a positive impact on their lives. But how can I make a difference long term? The answer lies in training for something that hurts! The Marathon!
All moneys raised will go towards supporting families worldwide and giving hope and creating unity in the community.
I feel blessed to be a part of Alex and Sam’s lives and whilst they are diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome this does not define who they are. They will always need extra specialist support and with this they will hopefully live the happy life that they were born to have. Alex and Sam have an incredible family who have shown loyalty, determination and dedication day after day and simply never giving up hope.
What is Phelan-McDermid Syndrome?
”Phelan-McDermid Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder involving Chromosome 22 that can affect many critical functions in a persons body - From learning and communicating to eating and sleeping”
So this year I will run the marathon in green to represent hope, strength and unity and Alex and Sam will be on my back in the form of a photo.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
When you see the roads closed or hear of the Yorkshire Marathon please think of Alex and Sam who face daily challenges yet they still look up with a smile….and within that smile is where the hope is.
