Running For A Cause - Children's Council Watauga
Tax deductible
My name is Garrett Ford, and I'm a member of F3 Boone, a local chapter of the international F3 Nation organization where men are dedicated to improving themselves and the communities they live in. In F3 Boone, we hold weekly workouts for men (all ages) free of charge to promote Fitness, Faith, and Fellowship (F3). Our latest challenge is a race on March 9th called The Mortimer 100 Relay, a 100+ mile footrace from Hickory, NC to Boone, NC where multiple 6-man teams run every dirt road, back road, wooded trail, and mountain we may find along the way. The only entry fee into the race is to raise at least $1,000 for a charity/non-profit of our choosing. My team, Team Hillbilly Hammer, has selected The Children's Council of Watauga County.
The Children's Council of Watauga County is a local nonprofit that works to build a strong foundation for children's learning and development by strengthening families, the early childhood system, and the wider community. They carry out their mission by:
- administering Smart Start and NC Pre-kindergarten funds to support programs to benefit children age 0-5 years and their families.
- convening community stakeholders to develop programs and services that support children and families.
- serving as a voice for the early childhood community.
- educating the community on the critical needs of young children and helps develop solutions.
So we at F3 do the running, you generously donate, and The Children's Council helps families and children thrive! No donation is too small and ALL donations go directly to The Children's Council.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
