Running a marathon for Shooting Stars SEN dance

Hi, my names Mark, if you know me you’ll know I’m not the fittest person in the world, I’ve never ran a marathon in my life and it’ll probably be absolute hell but I’m attempting it for a very good cause.

Arnold is my son and he is a member of Shooting Stars, an SEN cheerleading and dance team based in Lancashire. Kids with special educational needs from the age of 4-18 can attend classes and learn new skills at their own pace and make friends whilst actively getting involved in sport in a fun, safe environment. On a personal level, the group has just been so amazing for Arnold’s development, he never really wanted to do anything physical until we discovered the classes and now it’s his favourite part of the week (unless it’s the time of the year when Strictly is on) and I just want it to thrive and continue to grow so it can keep improving the lives of kids in a similar situation who don’t always have the same opportunities as others.
