As many of you know, Colby was born seven weeks early at just 33 weeks gestation. It was a scary and uncertain time, but today, he is a thriving, healthy 6-year-old - and you’d never know he arrived into the world earlier than expected.
Inspired by his strength when he was born, I now feel ready to challenge myself - not just physically, but mentally too - by training for my first half marathon. Until this month, I had never run further than 5km, so this will be a huge step outside my comfort zone. But I’m excited to take it on, not only for the personal achievement but also to raise money for Bliss, a charity that supports premature and sick babies and their families.
I know it’s going to be tough, but with Colby’s journey as my motivation, I can’t wait to give it my all. Thank you for your support - it means the world. I will be running the half marathon in Milton Keynes on the 12th July. *edit* As you know, I fractured my ankle so had 10 weeks where I was unable to run & therefore unable to run my half marathon. HOWEVER… I am now booked to run the St Neots Half Marathon on 16th November
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
