Ethan's 7 Hour Run Fundraiser for Refugee Council

Across the UK, we’ve seen a disturbing rise in the dehumanisation of immigrants, refugees, and people seeking asylum. Politicians and parties such as Reform have normalised hostile rhetoric that scapegoats people who come here to seek safety or build a better life. This toxic narrative fuels fear, division, and far-right protests on our streets.
In an effort to counteract this, on 23rd November, I will take part in "Lord of The Run Part 3", where I will run as far as possible in 7 hours to raise funds for the Refugee Council, an organisation that provides life-changing support to people rebuilding their lives in the UK. This is no small challenge. I’m putting in 5 days of training each week to give myself the best chance of hitting 70km in 7 hours. I’m taking on this almost absurd test of endurance as a way to push back against the absurd hostility immigrants, refugees, and people seeking asylum currently face in the UK.
The Refugee Council helps people find safety, access housing and healthcare, learn English, heal from trauma, and integrate into our communities. Just as importantly, they push back against hostile policies and campaign for compassion and fairness.
By donating, you’ll be supporting practical, life-changing work and sending a message that our communities are stronger when we stand together.
Every kilometer I run will be a small act of resistance to intolerance. I hope you’ll join me by supporting this fundraiser and sharing it.
Thank you for choosing the side of compassion over prejudice and division.
