Running 50k Across Luxembourg for Dementia (Friends Forever)

Hi there!

On the 5th of August, I will be running 50km across Luxembourg to raise money for a local Harlow charity.

In 2018, my Nan came to live with us and was diagnosed with dementia shortly after. We found a club for dementia sufferers run by The Alzheimer's Society, where my parents met Tess Harvey and the other volunteers. Not long after this, The Alzheimer's Society stopped the club. So, Tess and the volunteers decided to start up their own club, called 'Friends Forever'.

The club has been running for over 6 years - putting on social events, i.e., parties with live performances every fortnight at Moot House in the Stow, Harlow. The club is friendly and welcoming to all, especially those with dementia, their carers and family.

The money raised will go towards the entertainment, food and hall hire for the club.
