Running for Mum, Lungs & Legs

On Wednesday 11th December 2024, after weeks of tests and sleepless nights, our family received the devastating news that our beautiful mum has Extensive Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer.

There are truly no words to describe how difficult this is for our family, watching the most selfless person we know going through such an incredibly tough time.

Despite being handed a diagnosis of a disease that is treatable but not curable, she has remained so strong, and we’re unbelievably proud of her.

We hope no other family has to go through what we are experiencing and pray that in the future, earlier diagnoses and better treatment plans are found.

In light of this, my brother and I have made the silly yet exciting, very last-minute decision to take on the Manchester Marathon (Sunday 27th April 2025)! We’re thrilled to be running on behalf of Christie’s and Marie Curie, two charities with incredible causes.

To participate, we need to raise a minimum of £800, which will go directly to Christie’s and Marie Curie. Any additional funds raised will be donated to these two charities, supporting further lung cancer research and a fund will be set up to support our mum with future treatments.
