Run to the sea -50k ultra
Catherine, Liz, Sarah, Claire, Donald, Susie and Amanda are doing Run to the Sea on Saturday 5th October. There were supposed to be 8 of us, we had nearly got through the longer training runs, then the unthinkable happened and our dear friend and training partner Sian died suddenly. She would have wanted us to carry on and get it done, so we plan to go ahead in memory of the little pocket rocket who was eternally enthusiastic, encouraging and always up for a challenge.
Coincidentally the Royal Berkshire NHS Trust is also our Reading Roadrunners nominated charity for 2024 so it feels appropriate to support our local hospital as they supported and cared for Sian in her last few days and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
More information about Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Charity: The Royal Berks Charity supports the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust vision to continue to drive improvement in patient experience and be an outstanding provider of health services for our local communities.
Through fundraising and generous donations, we are able to add extra value and support pioneering and innovative work for the benefit of those that need us. It's these extras - both small and large - above and beyond the scope of the NHS budget, that really make a difference.
