Go the Distance for Sam's House

Over the last few months COVID-19 has brought about a lot of changes in life, and one of the most major changes was being quarantined.  During quarantine many of us were blessed to  have such loving and supporting families that we were able to spend time with, however not everyone has that.  Quarantine made me think of all of the people that don't have a family to help them get through hard times.  This is what inspired me to organize this virtual run for Sam's House with the Saint Viator Cross Country Team.  Participants will run or walk a 5K or a 10K.  

Sam's House is a Nepalese Home for orphaned or endangered children.  Sam's House provides its children with a home, food, clothing, schooling, and most importantly love and hope.  With only $3,200 Sam's House can provide everything one child needs for an entire year.  To find out more specifics about Sam's House, there is an FAQ linked below.

Currently due to COVID-19, it has been hard for Sam's House to fundraise money, so this is a great opportunity to support them.  The kids living at the home are still quarantined and they can't even attend school.  This makes it especially hard on the kids because they can't e-learn like a lot of us are doing, but rather they have to teach themselves based on books and lesson plans given to them.  Not only that, but the kids in the house can't meet up with their friends that they normally meet up with at school, making life during this global crisis even harder.

2. You can run/walk:
You can support this fundraiser by running or walking a 5K or a 10K during race week (October 5-October 12).  If you would like to take part in the run fill out the google form sign up linked below.  I will reach out to all of the runners as race week approaches.  Participants will have the option of sending in a video of them before or after the run/walk with a quick message for Sam's House.  I will then edit all of these videos together and send the completed video to Sam's House.  Participants will also have the option of sending in their 5K or 10K time and the results will be posted online.
