Run for Hope: Belfast to Cologne for Suicide Prevention
Do you want to join us in making a difference?
West Belfast man Michael Coleman is raising money in aid of West Wellbeing Suicide Prevention, who provide a valuable service for people struggling with their mental health, by running 26.2 miles this October, in Cologne.
Quote from Michael
"In a trade union capacity I deal regularly with people with mental health issues, and the single biggest common theme is the lack of provision and help, via the NHS, when people need it most. Too often what I come across is people being advised they will have to wait months, before getting the urgent help they need. If this was a physical condition with a critical need they would get immediate help. But unfortunately, the same level of service is not available for people in mental distress.
It is with great pleasure to be asked to help West Wellbeing, a place in my community that provides care and support for those people in need. From suicide prevention work, one to one therapies, through to pre and post counselling service, it is an invaluable resource to have on our doorstep.
Whilst West Wellbeing provides a FREE service to all its users, there is a cost to the charity. To put one person through 12 weeks of counselling support, costs £910. So if you can donate to help fund that support to help save one person, it would be very much appreciated. The more money we raise the more people we can help!."
