As a survivor......
My life before moving to Norfolk was very different to my life now.
As a child in the 90's I spent time in the UK foster system, unfortunately the sexual abuse of children was not uncommon.
I believe myself to be one of the more lucky children that got to see my abuser convicted and imprisoned during my teenage years.
It is Charity's like this that helps support children through the process of healing.
Brave Futures is a specialist support service for children and young people upto the age of 18 years who have experienced sexual abuse. They work throughout Suffolk and Norfolk. Providing a safe place for children and young people to make sense of the confusion they feel. They give children and young people the skills and tools they need to re-build their futures, manage the trauma they have experienced and help them move from victim to survivor.
Please donate if you can, if you can't donate then a simple note of encouragement throughout the month will help me get the running shoes on!
