We are The Doers and are excited to introduce our Christmas 2024 “Match-It-Fundraising” campaign. We will match every dollar you donate, doubling the impact of your generosity.
This year, we are partnering with Yayasan Rumah Peduli Petra, a non-profit organisation, located in Binjai, North Sumatera, Indonesia that assists children and widows who live under the poverty line with while sharing the Gospel. We firmly believe in the extraordinary power of collective kindness and invite you to join us in creating a real impact for those in need.
Who Are The Doers?
‘The Doers’ is a group of passionate individuals deeply inspired by faith and compassion. Our purpose is to serve as vessels for God's blessings in the lives of those who need it most. We operate independently and actively seek opportunities to assist those facing significant challenges; We wholeheartedly believe that love must be demonstrated through actions that bring about lasting change and leave behind a legacy of compassion and support.
Who is Yayasan Rumah Peduli Petra?
Founded by Pastor Charlison, a full-time pastor at a local church, who works casually as a farmer, and runs a small coffee shop at home as a side business to fund his ministry, and his wife Yuliana, a tailor who serves alongside her husband, Yayasan Rumah Peduli Petra began in 2019 with the humble goal of providing groceries to three abandoned children.
Today, their ministry has grown to support 57 children across two villages: Tanjung Manggusta and Beguldah II, where challenges like poverty, domestic violence, drug abuse, and high crime rates leave many children in dire conditions. Despite limited resources, Charlison and Yuliana continue to:
- Distribute food packages to families in need.
- Educate illiterate children.
- Offer skill-building programs, such as sewing lessons for widows and mothers, empowering them to earn a livelihood.
Currently, the organisation is self-funded and heavily reliant on voluntary donations, allowing them to assist only 15 children per month. Without sufficient funds, they are forced to pause their vital support.
Why Do They Need Help?
Yayasan Rumah Peduli Petra dreams of creating a safe haven for the children under their care and future generations. However, financial limitations have hindered their ability to provide a proper shelter or expand their outreach. Funds raised through this campaign will help them to:
- Secure a 2-year property lease to establish an orphanage.
- Provide food and necessities for all 57 children.
- Support children’s education by supplying school materials and lessons.
- Expand skill-building programs, such as buying more sewing machines for their training sessions.
