Ruivo Family Fundraiser

Dear friends and family members, my name is Anthony Cruz, and I am a very close friend of the Ruivo family.

Eric left us unexpectedly on December 11, 2022. He was an amazing person inside and out. Eric had a huge heart and a calm demeanor and loved his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest, had a contagious spirit, and impacted every person he met. Eric was exceptional, and his untimely passing leaves a void in many people's lives. This tragic loss has affected not just friends and family but coworkers and acquaintances.

Eric is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Fernanda, his loving sons, Marco and Mateo, his supportive parents, Octavio and Elvira, his sister Jessica and her husband Thomas, his grandmother Rosa Gafanha, his Godparents, Rosa Azevedo and Manuel Louro; and by many extended family and friends.

Eric and Fernanda were middle school sweethearts and eventually married in 2006. They planted their roots in Sayreville, where they had two amazing sons, Marco, nine and Mateo, seven. They both followed in their father's footsteps and shared the same passion for soccer while Eric was their coach. The boys are witty, confident, and free spirited, just like their father.

Eric worked for the NJ State Police, and Fernanda was a stay-at-home mom. They were a one-income family raising two boys just like they had planned. Unfortunately, Eric passed suddenly and unexpectedly, so I'm reaching out to all of you to help support Fernanda and the boys in these trying times. The money donated will help sustain the family for the coming months, ensure a roof over the family's head, and ensure food is on the table. The donations will give the family time to grieve and heal properly, allowing them to progress at their own pace. If you knew Eric, then you'd understand that he would always go out of his way to help anyone that needed it. That is why it is so important for me to raise money for the family.
