My name is Rudy, and just before Thanksgiving, my life changed in ways I never could have imagined. I was getting ready to celebrate a good friend’s birthday when I suddenly felt flat and couldn’t focus. I was worried I might be having a stroke. Thankfully, my friends acted quickly and rushed me to the emergency room, where a code stroke was called. After a series of tests, the doctors discovered a cancerous lesion in my brain. I had brain surgery the day before Thanksgiving, and now I’m recovering with 25 staples in my head.
This experience has been overwhelming and has turned my world upside down. I’m facing a long road to recovery, and I need help with the basics—paying for food, getting meals prepared, keeping my home clean, and getting to and from appointments. These are things I never thought I’d struggle with, but right now, they’re a real challenge. The costs are adding up quickly, and it’s hard to manage everything on my own while I heal.
I’ve always been someone who helps others in their time of need, never expecting to find myself in this position. This has been a very eye-opening experience for me. I’m reaching out now to ask for your support—any help you can give would mean so much as I work toward recovery. Thank you for your kindness and for being there when I need it most.
