Hi, my name is Ruby and I am running to raise awareness for cancer.
For my Year 9 STRIVE Project I will be running 7.42km a day for seven days to raise awareness for the cancers that have touched my family and other people in the Central Goldfields Shire.
7.42km a day or 52km in total, represents the number of people who die from cancer in the Central Goldfields Shire each year.
My motivation is my Pa, Jock Adams, who passed away from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2017.
All money raised will be donated to the Maryborough District Health Service Palliative Care Suite.
Each day I will be raising awareness for a different cancer by wearing the colour of the ribbon while I run - Breast cancer, Lung cancer, Bowel cancer, Uterine cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and all cancers.
Thank you for your support!
