Hi my name is Danny and I served in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment.

I spent most of my career based in Germany also serving in Kosovo and Iraq.

A few years ago some of my former comrades started a Royal Tank Regiment Football team and have been travelling all over the country playing other veteran teams.

This has been an amazing experience with people who use to rarely see each other meeting up and playing football.

This not only keeps the guys healthy but also assists with their mental health and gives the opportunity for everyone to meet up.

However this is expensive with the guys having to cover the costs themselves.

This August the lads are returning to our former home in Germany to play Walsrode FC.

We will also be going to pay our respects to some of our former colleagues who are resting in Germany.

I will be completing the Nuclear race on the 9th May. A 12km obstacle course with 70 obstacles. Stuart Strelow will be doing it with me to help me get around as I'm no spring chicken anymore.

The money raised will go towards paying for the team to travel to Germany, accommodation and football kits.
