WE ARE ADOPTING!
Jason and I have some very exciting news to share! We are in the process of adopting a baby boy!
This crazy ride started on Saturday night, May 23, and the sweet baby boy was born on Tuesday, May 26! It is a designated adoption, meaning we know the birth mom, and she is choosing us prior to going through our agency.
Because we had not been pursuing adoption and therefore do not have a home study or anything done, the county will not let us bring him home from the hospital, like we had hoped to do.
The alternative, however, is looking wonderful! A local foster family through our agency is taking him when he is discharged tomorrow, but we will meet them and have access to visit him, make some decisions about him, and even go to any doctor visits he has.
Meanwhile, we are doing an accelerated version of this process so that we can have him in our home as soon as possible! It sounds like we are looking at 30-60 days before everything is complete!
We have a name picked out that is very special to us and that honors the birth mom and her choice of a name as well:
Micah Jacob Kaiden
(pronounced Ky-den)
Micah means, "Who is like God?" which is truly our thought throughout this whole beautiful, messy, terrifying, exciting, overwhelming, and incredible story!
No pictures yet, but believe us when we say he is absolutely perfect!
If you would like to help us as we raise funds for this very fast process, here's one way you can do that. We are so humbled by God's grace and goodness in all of this, and we can't wait to see how He will provide!
