Support Ashley's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley.
I’m the youngest of five siblings.I never imagined I would be creating a GoFundMe, but my whole world changed on November 21, 2023, when my mother suddenly suffered an aneurysm. Not long after, she passed away, leaving me to carry the weight of caring for both my parents, my brother, and my two kids—all by myself.
My father has advanced dementia and is now in stage 7. He needs around-the-clock care for everything—eating, bathing, moving, and even just getting through the day. I can’t work because every minute of my time is spent making sure he’s okay. There were times I needed to go to the hospital for my own health, but I refused because all I could think was, “If they keep me, who will take care of Daddy?”
I don’t want to put him in a nursing home. I want him to be with me in these final stages, surrounded by love, not strangers. But it’s been so hard. There have been nights I’ve gone without sleep, days I’ve had to choose between paying a bill or buying food, and moments where I barely had enough to feed my dad.
I don’t have help from my family, and I don’t receive any assistance from the state. On top of caring for my dad, I’m also raising my brother and my two children. The weight of everything—losing my mom, watching my dad fade, struggling to survive—has been crushing.
This GoFundMe means more than words can say. Any support will help me keep up with bills, cover what my mom left behind, and give my dad the dignity and care he deserves in his last days. Even the smallest donation will help lighten this heavy burden.
Thank you for reading my story, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support.
