This past Monday, my sister Sarah and her children lost one of the most important people in their lives. Jake Pizette, a creative, adventurous, loving soul, passed away tragically and untimely, leaving Sarah, Tre, Sace and Vanna to cherish and carry on his memory. Jake and Sarah grew not just a family together over the years, but a home. While I have many, some of my favorite memories are driving to the beach, and watching Jake show the boys how to pick up hermit crabs, bringing them to the rock pier to explore, and letting them chase him with water guns until he climactically fell to the sand in defeat. My heart aches for my sister, who lost not only her partner but her friend, and my nephews and niece, who are learning how to navigate this new world without their father. On top of the extraordinary grief Sarah and the children are left carrying, the world hasn't stopped turning and the burdens of everyday life are still weighing on their shoulders. If anyone would like to support the family with donations, they will be used to buy the children back-to-school clothes, upcoming birthdays and Christmas presents, and any other expenses that may arise for the children. In additon, these

funds will help manage the unexpected increase of rent that the family received notice of on the 30th of this month for the apartment they currently reside in. This would aid in relieving a bit of lifes burdens while the family mourns Jakes loss.
