Hi, I’m Rebecca the granddaughter of the late Tom Burgess.

it is with a very heavy heart I’m updating my message to let you know our grandad passed away on the 4th of January , rather than flowers a donation to bury hospice would be much appreciated.

With not much help from the NHS, the hospice leans on donations to keep it running & if it wasn’t for previous families spreading awareness and raising money Bury Hospice would struggle . Hence, my family & I would like to ask you all to give anything you can to support them - it would mean the world to the our family & we all appreciate anything you can donate ❤️

Bury Hospice opened its doors in 1991 and since this time we have continued to provide invaluable palliative and end-of-life care to thousands of patients and their families across Bury. Our services include a specialist 24 hour inpatient unit, medical and respite facilities, complementary therapies, family bereavement support, and a dedicated community outreach team who service the needs of patient and their families in their own homes.

We host outpatient clinics, bringing treatments closer to home. The Living Well Centre houses our weekly phlebotomy and Systemic Anti Cancer Therapies (SACT) clinics, in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

We also host a Motor Neurone Disease (MND) clinic. We have partnered with Salford Royal Hospital (Northern Care Alliance).

We do this through grants and trusts and via our income generation channels which include our shops, our weekly lottery and fundraising events that run throughout the year. We also could not do what we do without with the generosity of our community, businesses across the borough and our amazing volunteers.
