Care for Colin
Hi all, this is Carrie, Brian and Alison. We're raising funds for our buddy, Colin, a sweet, loving boy with Downs Syndrome who lost both of his parents in less than a year's time. His Mom, Colleen, was our dear, dear friend and Colin's champion through all-the-things. She passed away in August 2020. Colin's Dad, Chris, was his hero...he died in May 2021. Words are insufficient to describe the tragedy that has befallen this boy. All of us who love Colin are taking action to do everything in our power to insure he is cared for in the most loving and compassionate ways possible.
Luckily, Colin landed with his Mom's cousin, Ann, her husband, Marc, and their two sons. They are prepared to bring Colin into the fold as their own while they honor Colleen and Chris. Their big hearts and benevolence are a blessing. Colin spends a lot of time with his Uncle Kurt, Aunt Dee, and their big pup, Murphy, who he adores. Kurt and Dee were vital in insuring Colin finished second grade and continue to ease his transition to this new life, which can be confusing and complex.
Colin receives care and support from a plethora of family, friends, professional aides and therapists.
Which brings us to the need for funds: Ann and Marc are hiring incredible people to help Colin transition to their home so he can seamlessly be a part of their family. This requires financial resources, as you can imagine. Any amount you can spare is helpful and will be used with gratitude.
