Roys: Help Our Ohana Survive This Crisis
Donation protected
COVID-19 has affected us all unexpectedly, but those of us in the service industry have in many ways, been hit the hardest.
On Tuesday, March 17th, the staff at Roys in Jacksonville Beach was informed their restaurant would be closing down due to the ongoing spread of coronavirus.
While those of us at Roys were happy to hear our company was taking precautions to ensure the best health for our community, we are also now left without jobs, income, or an economic safety net.
The restaurant industry is dependent upon the influx of its customers. Many times, we live paycheck to paycheck--but that sacrifice is worth being able to serve as a pillar of the community, and be there for our patrons on the hard days, the difficult days, and especially the days of celebration.
Now, we ask you to please reach out and be there for us. We have an entire family (here at Roys, we call it our Ohana) that is severely struggling over this sudden loss of income.
We know these are tough times for everyone, but if you have the means to donate, it would give us a chance of surviving this pandemic without the crushing fear of being taken off our health insurance, losing our cars, or being kicked out of our homes.
This is for the bartender who knows your favorite drink. The chef who prepares the best dish you've ever tasted. The assistant who makes sure your table is clean and your water stays full. The server who helps you ring in birthdays and anniversaries with your loved ones.
We love being there for you, and we'd love it if you could be there for us. No amount is too little or too small, and absolutely anything is graciously appreciated.
Best wishes to you and your families during this scary and difficult time. We hope to see you again soon.
Love,
Roys Ohana
