My first Grandbaby Roxy Temperance Parks has had a bit of a rough start to her little life. She was born July 16th 4 weeks early and hours later flown to IWK where she underwent surgery on her little esophagus. Her diagnosis happens 1/6000 babies and it is called Tracheoesophageal Fistula TEF. Her's was a little more complex than expected and the esophagus had to be stretched to reattach resulting in a very narrow airway and not able to eat orally. As a result she will be at IWK for at least 2 more months with her parents Duncan and Cathleen at her side the entire time.
She may have to get a Tracheostomy inserted at the end of the month as well, but we are not sure just yet. Either way she has a long recovery and are just asking for a little help with eating expenses for the parents and also any necessary travel that needs to take place. They will need to find a newer apartment with better air quality before bringing baby Roxy home as well and this will help to hold it until they are home.
Any small donation will help and we appreciate all of your prayers and cares over this difficult time.
