We found Rowan unresponsive, pale and not breathing, yesterday around 5ish. I immediately started CPR.. I didn't even check for a pulse.. Nick called 911. Kadyn witnessed everything. The paramedics took him to Covenant and they airlifted him to Iowa City.

We're preparing to donate Ro's organs so he'll live on in others. My baby's gonna save so many lives at 10 months

We are going to cremate him so he's with us anywhere and everywhere, always and forever.

And we will be having a celebration of life after we attempt to get through these next couple weeks. Most everyone will be welcome.

I should be planning his first birthday party... not this. I wanted to celebrate the life ahead of him, not the short life he blessed us with..

BUT I will celebrate knowing him and getting to love my sweet, perfect, beautiful baby boy. His smile and kisses will forever be one of my favorite memories.

Nick and I have decided that we can't go back home. We're going to make arrangements with my family to stay with them until we're a bit more stable with the new life we're forced to grieve through. With that being said.. everyone keeps asking what they can do to help and my answer is I don't know.. the only thing I do know is that we could always use a bit of financial support to navigate the upcoming hardest months of our lives. Continued thoughts and prayers are always welcome as well as someone to talk to. Food, gifts, cards... we won't say no to anything. Please please share or donate..

original : On September 22, 2024 baby Rowan was born at 28 weeks and 1 day. He was born weighing 2lbs 11 oz and 13.4 inches long. Due to Rowan being born so early, he has to stay in Iowa City in the NICU. His mother had to be in Iowa City on monitored bed rest due to complications during the pregnancy. She was in Iowa City for 26 days before his birth and was hospitalized for a total of 30 days. She has had to be out of work and without her older son for that time. Baby Rowan is a fighter but he has had complications due to him being born so early. This family is in need of our help. Funds raised will go to the family to put towards various expenses such as medical bills, gas, housing, food, etc. Any help is appreciated!
