Help Us Save the Heart of Roundstone
For nearly 70 years, the Community Centre has been the beating heart of Roundstone, the most painted village in Ireland, home to two centuries of music, arts and heritage on the Wild Atlantic Way.
It's where our children learned to dance. Where we celebrated weddings, regattas and the Tour de Bog. Where generations have gathered for everything that matters in village life.
Now it needs us.
Built in the late 1950s, the Centre is falling into serious disrepair. Water is coming through the roof. Gutters are gone, windows are rotting, floors are decaying, and the offices downstairs are already unusable. The engineers were blunt: the longer we wait, the worse and more expensive it gets.
The good news: we have a plan.
Planning approval is in place for a full renovation, costed at €490,000. Grant applications are in with Galway County Council and other bodies, but to unlock that funding our community must raise its share. Through RoundstoneForFun events over the last number of years we've already raised €42,000 towards the Centre and donated a similar amount to charity. Now we're asking for your help with the next push.
Where every euro goes:
75% to the redevelopment of the Roundstone Community Centre
25% donated to Galway University Hospital
Nothing else. No overheads, no admin. Every cent goes to these two causes.
Your donation today does more than fix a building. It keeps a living village alive for the families who live here, the visitors who love it, and the generations to come. Early donations inspire others, so please give what you can and share this page.
And come celebrate with us! Join us at the Summer Party in the Community Centre on Saturday 8th August 2026, with live music from The Classic Beatles, Ireland's leading Beatles tribute band, and a BBQ from Connemara Catering. Tickets €55 at RoundstoneForFun.
