Round Sheffield Run fundraiser for Totley Scouts
It was a very hot day but the run went well - big hills but amazing atmosphere. Took me 2 hours and 8 minutes of running time, though my group got a 11 minute time penalty as we spent too long as a rest stop due to a long loo queue, so my 'chip time' was 2 hours 19 mins.
I've relatively recently got back into running after a long break and am now attempting to complete the Round Sheffield Run on Saturday 28 June. This is a 20km run around South West Sheffield made up of 11 individual timed stages.
This will be the furthest I've run for over 10 years, and the hilliest run I've ever attempted, so I think that I'll need some extra motivation to keep going on the day. As a result, I'd be really grateful if anyone could sponsor me to help raise money for the Totley Scout Group, so I can know I can't quit without letting the kids down.
While we have now got our hut refurbishment done, there are still lots of ways our programme of activities and facilities could be enhanced to give the children amazing experiences, which is what this money would go towards.
