At Rothley Park Cricekt club we are raising money to support Thrombosis UK, a charity close to our hearts through hosting our second annual golf day in memory our dear friend and cricket colleague, Tom Regan - a devoted parent of two - who passed away suddenly last year due to a pulmonary embolism caused by a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Tom also lost one of his sisters to the same condition and his other sister suffered a large blood clot a few years later. His story is a stark reminder of how vital awareness, prevention, and research into thrombosis truly are.

Thrombosis UK is dedicated to promoting care, awareness, and research around thrombosis. They work with the NHS, healthcare providers, and individuals to improve the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and the management of unavoidable VTE events. Their mission is to ensure everyone knows the risks, signs, and symptoms of VTE and to support research that deepens understanding and improves prevention and care.
