Rosie’s Mobi-Chair Floating Beach Wheelchair
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Thomas and I’m trying to raise funds so that we can get our daughter Rose a Mobi-Chair, Floating Beach Wheel Chair. Rosie was born on October 11th, 2018, two days later we found out that she was born with Neuron Migration Disorder (meaning her brain was not fully developed at birth). After numerous months in and and out of the hospital Rosie was diagnosed with WDR62 mutation primary Microcephaly..
(In WDR62 primary microcephaly (WDR62-MCPH), microcephaly (occipitofrontal circumference [OFC] ≥2 standard deviations below the mean) is usually present at birth, but in some instances becomes evident later in the first year of life. Growth is otherwise normal. Except for brain malformations in most affected individuals, no other congenital malformations are observed. Central nervous system involvement can include delayed motor development, mild-to-severe intellectual disability (ID), behavior problems, epilepsy, spasticity, and ataxia.)
Rose is a beautifully healthy 5 year old with an infectious smile despite being non-mobile, non-verbal, being on a Gastrostromy Tube (G Tube), and experiences daily bouts of infantile spasms (epileptic seizures she has experienced since she was 4 months old). Some of Rosie’s happiest times are spent on the boat with her bestest big brother Aiden, her mom, and I. We would like to obtain a beach type wheelchair so that Rose can enjoy the beach more easily as she continues to grow (at 5 years old she’s already 4 feet tall almost as tall as her 8 year old brother and continues to grow like a weed). We aren’t good at asking for help but any thing is greatly appreciated and all money will go towards purchasing this chair for Rose.
Thank You,
Thomas
