Rooted & Rising: The Freya Everly Project
To say Freya loved the outdoors is an understatement. She became a different kid when you put her in a swing, on a slide or watched her walk in the grass and brush her hands over the flowers. One of the ways we feel most connected to her is in nature and through these memories that we hope will never fade.
From the earth that lies beneath our feet to the sky that Freya lights above us, we want to create living memorial spaces to honor our beloved girl. We are all rooted in love, and with your help we will create places to rest, grow and keep moving alongside one another.
With your contributions, we will build spaces for our children and community to ground themselves, learn and explore what it means to be soft enough to bend, but strong enough to stand like Freya Everly Ness Ulwick.
Project plans include a memorial garden courtyard space at Serena Hills Elementary School, all-weather kid furniture for Flossmoor Hills Elementary School and Stepping Stones Daycare, and more ideas to come.
