We did it! In our very first year as a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team, Team #30700, "Seven Seas," has achieved the unthinkable. After a season of late nights, complex coding, and intensive engineering, we have officially qualified for the Michiana Premier Event in South Bend, Indiana, this June 18–21, 2026!

As a rookie team from West Des Moines, our goal this year was simply to learn the ropes. Instead, our robot—and our team—exceeded every expectation. We’ve already been honored with awards like the Innovate Award and served as Finalist Alliance Captains, proving that even the newest teams can make waves.

Now, we have the chance to represent our community on a global stage, competing against 96 of the best teams from around the world to capstone the DECODE™ season.

Why We Need Your Help:

Traveling from Iowa to Indiana for a multi-day international competition is a massive undertaking. As a rookie team, we don't yet have the long-term corporate sponsorships of veteran programs. We are turning to our friends, family, and community to help us cover the "last mile" of our journey.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover:

Event Registration: $1,800 (Premier events have higher stakes and higher costs!)

Robot Upgrades: We need to refine our hardware to compete with the world's top-tier robots.

Logistics: Transporting our tools, spare parts, and "pit" equipment safely across state lines.
