Roof Repair Needed Before Winter
Donation protected

Yá'át'ééh (Greetings in Navajo) to you all. My name is Dennis Manuelito and I am fundraising for my family’s project to replace the roof and repair parts of the ceiling in our family home on the Arizona side of the Navajo Nation. As of Thursday, October 12th, we have raised $3,468.00 which represents 69% of our goal. This amount is a combination of what we raised through GoFundMe and direct contributions sent through Zelle. If you haven't donated yet, we hope you will consider donating to this project. Any donation amount is helpful; $5.00, $10.00, $15.00, $20.00, $25.00, $50.00 or more. You can also send money using Zelle or Cash App. Send me a private message to arrange this.
"Home Sweet Home" is a phrase we think of and say from the heart because it ties to us the memories created there. My late mother Mary Alice Manuelito (maiden name Billiman) grew up here in Buell Park better known in our language as Nahaal Dzíís which loosely translates to "depression in the earth".
This project will allow us to replace the plywood panels over the entire roof with upgraded roof sheathing, synthetic underlay, and the metal roof along with all the components. The ceiling and insulation in the kitchen and the bedroom affected will also need to be replaced, and whatever additional materials that are needed to complete the work.
Our family home was built in 1978 with help from the Navajo Nation's Veterans Affairs Office as my late father Dennis Manuelito, Sr. was an Army Veteran who served post WWII. Our home is located 12 miles north of Fort Defiance, Arizona on the Navajo Nation. Presently, my eldest sister and one of my younger brothers live in that home. They were caring for our late mom and late step father who passed on seven and eight years ago, respectively. My sister and brother are financially strapped and do not have the funds to purchase any of the materials needed to have the roof and ceiling repaired. The rest of us in the family will contribute what we are able to. With your help, we hope to raise enough funds for this project.
Alternatively, if you’d like to help by donating any of the materials needed or want to help with labor on the weekend of October 14th and 15th, let me know so I can share the list of materials needed to complete the project. Finally, feel free to share this post with your network of friends and relatives!
