Brendon Books needs your help!!….the roof is in desperate need of repair!! With the recent relentless rain the damage has increased and the need for repairs is now urgent.
Please help raise the funds needed to fix the roof of one of Taunton’s legendary local businesses.
This year Brendon Books in Bath Place, Taunton celebrated 37 years under the ownership of Lionel and Jo Ward.
A traditional, independent book shop which offers its customers a broad range of books (both new and second hand) alongside a range of other items.
But more than just a shop, Brendon Books has become a huge part of our community…it is one of the brilliant independent shops based in historic Bath Place, a rather special part of Taunton that celebrates all that is independent…a collection of unique shops run by passionate business owners…and for almost 4 decades Jo and Lionel have been a part of that community.
Alongside running the shop, owner Lionel also organises the annual literary festival, a key date in the Taunton events calendar…author talks take place throughout the year and the shop itself is a warm, welcoming place for members of the public. Without a doubt, Brendon Books is an important and valued business within the town and I hope that customers, residents and fellow business owners will be as keen as I am to help them to resolve their damaged roof.
There are so many challenges facing small businesses at the moment….an all repairing lease and a roof needing thousands of pounds spent on it is an obstacle that weighs heavy. As a community I hope we can help raise the money needed to help this amazing local business.
