Hi, my name is Jeff. I am hoping to help a Honest and Hardworking young man put a roof and windows on he house he is building. As well as maybe puchase some small used appliances once it is done. His name is Nelson Vasquez, he is a Nicaraguan. I have been friends with him for years. In 2024 we brought him here to the United States legally under the Humanatarian Relief program. His goal was to stay the 2 years he was granted and save enough to build himself a small mud house back in Nicaragua. That dream was cut short. After being here 11 months, he was deemed illegal when Trump revoked his parole. He decided to self-deport when his happened. However he went home with a fraction of what he was hoping. Nelson has been back almost a year now. He decided to build his small house even knowing he may not have enough to finish. $11,000 From the photos, it looks like he has the walls halfway up. He was able to get water hooked up the other day. And he is hoping to get electricity soon. He has a 2 paid employees $25 and $15 a day plus cooked lunch, as well as 2 brothers helping him. He is worried about having enough to buy the lamina(sheet metal roofing) and has decided the windows can wait. He was hoping for glass in the living room and bedroom. The other expense that he is worried about is the labor costs of the exterior plastering(our stucco) this is nessecary to keep the mud block from deteriorating. The final things where his dreams of having a refrigerator ($400) gas stove ($300) and a real washing machine ($400 which will have his brothers and sisters visiting often) jajaja. Its amazing he can do so much woth so little. He is building a house for less than $14,000. Has anyone dome a full bathroom remodel for less than that in the last 10 years? So many of you have given to Nelson already. Iam hoping for one last push. I hope getting him. $3-4k will prepare his house for rainy season, and get him the appliaces and glass. Thanks so much.
