Rons Cancer Journey - Creating Family Memories

I am really sorry to share with you that Ron passed away peacefully with his family around him on Monday 13th March 2023. His battle with this cruel cancer ended earlier than expected but he fought it bravely to the last days. We will be keeping this donation page open to continue to collect money to help Tilly and the Children Avie (7) and Jensen (5) at this terribly difficult time. Any support you can give is hugely appreciated and for anyone who has already donated we send huge thanks and love from the family for your support. His funeral is being held in the Netherlands next week. A memorial will be held in the UK on 1st April 2023 further details will be shared when available. Thank you for all your support.

Our dear friend and ex Flybe Captain Ronald Roovers has been valiantly fighting a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer for over 2 years. Ronald discovered he had cancer whilst working in Vietnam and it resulted in an immediate cessation of work and livelihood as an Airline Captain and return to the UK for treatment. Many challenging treatments and family disruptions for hospital stays have occurred but unfortunately despite all of the amazing care and support from the medical teams Ronald and his beautiful family are now having to adjust to a terminal diagnosis with limited time to spend together as a family. Together Ronald and his partner Tilly want to organise amazing and memorable experiences for their adorable and precious children Jensen (5) and Avie (7) to enable them to build some lasting and loving final memories with their father. After 2 years of Ronald fighting this cruel disease and spending an extended period out of work, we would like to raise £10,000 to enable the financial security for the family to make these memories and to support them in these difficult few months ahead.
