What is the craic everyone! I’m absolutely buzzing to be running this years Great Limerick Marathon!
I’m hoping to raise some money for the Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital Dublin Foundation. For those of you who may not know, back in 2020 i was diagnosed with having a Giant Cell Tumour in my knee. A Giant Cell Tumour is a rare benign tumour but locally agressive. I had this initial tumour removed, followed by a reoccurence a year after. All was well until a sepsis scare at Christmas 2022 had me under go a couple of more sugeries and take too many antibiotics!!
After a long road, some screws, a metal plate and a bit of concrete, The knee is now better than ever and I’m so excited to be running this years marathon, which is something I never thought would be possible.
Cappagh is the place that helped me so much and got me back on my feet. They have an incredible staff team and continue to look after me to this day with my routine check ups. I want to use this opportunity to do some good for such an important cause. Any donations at all are so greatly appreciated, Bring on the Great Limerick Run!
