Ronan Power & Family

My best friend Nicole and her beautiful family have been through many unimaginable things over the past five years. Throughout it, Nicole and her husband Rory put on a strong face for their five kids. This Friday, their youngest boy Ronan is undergoing yet another major surgery for spina bifida complications, his 8th or 9th major surgery in his short 5 years.

Nicole and Rory never ask for anything. Even with all they've been through, they view themselves as fortunate and blessed, which they are. This time, Rory will be out of work and will not be getting paid. With the expenses of medical bills and regular household bills, not having income for a few weeks is very impactful to the family of 7.

They won't ask for help themselves, but they need it and deserve it. Please do what you can to help this family that so many people love and care about. Thank you!

Ronan's Story (a message from Nicole)

Today, June 1, is Ronan’s last day of school. Unfortunately , much like last year he is ending before all his friends because he has to undergo yet another surgery. I have been in such a state of denial about this most recent surgery. This surgery is one he has not had yet and is called Arnold chiari decompression where they will operate on his brain stem.

If you are the praying kind please pray that when Ronan wakes up from surgery he is the same sweet, happy, loving boy he is when he goes to sleep. Every surgery is worrisome but something about them operating on his brain stem just adds to the anxiety.

Please also pray for my other boys. Watching their brother experience all this is so very hard on them. Not only are they worried about Ronan, they are missing their mom and dad.

Last year I was able to have Teagan (1 year old) with me at the hospital bc she was so little and breastfed. Which might seem like a lot, and it was, but I haven’t spent more than a few hours away from her since she’s been born. She’s still breastfeeding and I’m going to have to leave her for the first time. I’m a mess about so much and am so worried about all my children. Nothing about this is easy on any of us.
