Ron Phelps Accident
Donation protected
Our dad, Ron Phelps, was in a terrible car accident on Thursday afternoon involving a semi-truck. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he will remain for some time. We feel incredibly fortunate that he is stable and expected to eventually recover.
He underwent emergency surgery to reattach skin to his forehead and head. He has a severe concussion, and a small brain bleed. Additionally, he will need another surgery (or more) to repair a fractured hip socket, broken ribs, and a broken wrist. These are the injuries we’re aware of so far.
As many of you know, our dad’s work demands physical labor—fixing cars, constantly on his feet, lifting, carrying, or working under vehicles. We’re unsure how long it will be before he’ll be able to work again, if ever. He’s the hardest worker, and we know resting will be challenging for him, but it’s what he needs most right now.
We know that our parents would never approve of sharing this, however, we will do whatever we can to lighten their load at this time.
Above all, we’re so grateful he’s okay. We will thank God every day that the situation wasn’t worse.
Thank you so much,
Shelby, Madalyn, Mason, & Kate
