Roman Camp Initiative (RCI) seeks funding to support and implement a comprehensive one-year
Community-Based Programme across three active resilient communities in Kampala Uganda.
This article is grounded in an intensive gap that can be closed by only your support and commitment.
Today, Roman Camp Initiative is already on the ground and making a difference with a common theme
We currently serve 222 children across three sites: 120 children at Railway Primary School in Nsambye, 60 children in the Katwe Kinyoro Slums, and 42 children in Masajja Zone.
Despite our presence and the trust these communities have placed in us, we are reaching these
children with chess training only severely constrained by a lack of resources. There is no life
skills mentorship, no mental wellness support, no structured inclusion programme, and no capacity
to extend our reach to the many more children who need us.
With your generous support, we will transform what is currently a basic chess programme into a
holistic, life-changing intervention. We will deepen the support we offer to the 222 children already in our care, extend our reach to additional vulnerable youth, and equip every child with the tools they need to cope with stress and anxiety, develop resilience, and build their capacity for a better future.
Your donation is not starting something new it is unleashing the full potential of something already alive.
