Hello, my name is Jessie Cash. Although having resided in Maine for 40 years, I was born and raised in Rolling Fork, Miss. My family’s home in Rolling Fork (The Morris Family featured on the 6:30 NBC Nightly News, March 28th (see video above)) was destroyed by the tornado. The house was occupied by my two nieces, a daughter and her three grandchildren, ages 15, 16 and 8. Everything was destroyed. All but one member was able to walk out alive, but the eight-year-old grandson, Jeremy sustained head injuries rendering him unconscious. Thank God for Storm Chasers, who dug their way through the rubble and snakes and were able to transport him by truck to an ambulance who could get him to Jackson, Miss. two hours away. Despite brain surgery, he has lost his sight and speech and is in critical condition.
My family lost everything in the tornado and will have to start from scratch. The funds are needed for food, clothes, school supplies, necessities, cars, gas money, (It’s a two-hour drive to visit with Jeremy), phones and other basic living expenses.
I am so grateful for any help no matter how small.
My Niece Patricia Kenny, the head of the household in Rolling Fork is the beneficiary of this Gofundme. I am coordinating relief and support for our family in Rolling Fork.
